How our End of An Era Event Went Down…

On Friday 26th October we took over Bowlers Exhibition Centre for the final time, welcoming thousands of Halloween party-goers to explore a myriad of music, decor, performance, market stalls, food stalls, a fun fair and more. Being our last show at Bowlers, we wanted to ensure this was a night Illuminaughty fans would never forget…

There wasn’t one attendee who hadn’t made an INCREDIBLE amount of effort with their costume, from clowns to ghostbusters, vampires, ghouls, gremlins and beyond… the weird and wonderful ventured out for one night only to leave reality at the door and enjoy Illuminaugty Presents: End of An Era!

We began the night by exploring what our market stalls had to offer, after being made to look like the scariest of skulls by makeup artists Indigo Moon, who over the course of the event turned the crowd into an array of Halloween characters. Whether looking to get a mid-party massage, purchase some hand-crafted jewellery or have a psychedelic dip, our market stalls  had plenty to offer.

The Church stage… Our main arena played host to some of Psytrance’s biggest names- stand out sets from Morten Granau and Astrix blew our minds! From open until close some of our most dedicated ravers danced within The Church, watching firebreathers, contortionists and performers alike transport us to another dimension.

The Castle; as we stepped back in time to a Medieval era, complete with hanging skeletons, flowing drapes and chandeliers… The Castle provided some bass heavy beats that had the crowd bouncing. From Bad Company UK, to Ed Rush and Optical, The Castle reigned supreme in providing debauchery all night long.

After exploring our first two stages, we took to outside to see what the fun fair had to offer, as the faint hearted took to the Bumper Cars… the braver of ravers opted for the Booster; because, who doesn’t want to be flipped upside down and spun at 100 ft on a night out, right? An escape from the music, our fun fair proved a big hit!

As we ventured to The Unit, with it’s low ceilings and underground club vibe, the party was in full swing. The Godfather of Garage, MJ Cole was a highlight of the evening for us, whilst Stanton Warriors brought everyone’s levels up with their reggae garage blend.

Throughout numerous points of the evening, we looked round to see Illuminaughty party goers dancing, laughing, having fun, feeling free, partying in an inclusive space which welcomes all. To see our Halloween Indoor Festival as successful as we imagined was a moment we won’t forget and this event was the perfect way to end our time at Bowlers Exhibition Centre! From the weird and wonderful, to the wacky and wild… End of An Era did not disappoint. From music to performers, decor and beyond, we wanted to end this era in true Illumianaughty fashion… We hope you had as much fun as we did.

Thank you from the Illuminaughty team!
